FACE-TO-FACE, ONE CONVERSATION AT A TIME

Random Video Chat, From Camera Access to Your First Hello

Video adds a face and voice to a random conversation. On OmegleHang, a working camera starts before matching, and the browser controls whether the site can use your camera and microphone.

What you need before starting

Use the HTTPS website directly in a browser that supports camera capture and WebRTC. Have a working webcam, and a microphone if you want to speak. Headphones can reduce echo when both people use speakers. A stable connection matters more than an elaborate setup.

Close another app that may be using the camera. Check your system privacy settings if the browser cannot open the device. A permitted browser does not guarantee that the hardware is available.

The camera request belongs to your browser

Confirm the 18+ and rules statement, then choose Video Chat. The chat screen opens while device access is requested. Choose Allow only if you want to share your camera and microphone. If permission is already saved, the browser may start capture without showing a new prompt.

If you blocked access before, open the site controls beside the address bar and change the camera or microphone setting. Websites cannot reset your permissions for you. The camera and microphone troubleshooting guide separates browser blocks from hardware and hosting problems.

What happens during matching

After successful camera capture, your browser joins the selected video queue. When another participant is available, the service helps the browsers negotiate a WebRTC connection. You will see a connection status while that takes place. A match can be found before the media connection completes.

Waiting time varies with the people currently in that section. An online total includes connected browsers that may not be looking for a match. No minimum wait time, country choice, or guaranteed partner is offered.

Use the controls when you need them

  • Next stranger: end the current conversation and look for a different person while retaining your active camera.
  • Stop: leave chat and release the camera and microphone tracks used by the page.
  • Report: when available, submit a report and end the current match.
  • Text box: type to a connected partner if voice is inconvenient.

If you prefer to avoid devices, stop the call and choose text-only chat. This site does not ask for a camera in text mode.

When video does not connect

A camera failure and a partner connection failure are different. If your local preview never starts, check permissions, device availability, and system settings. If the preview works but the stranger's media does not arrive, the network path between browsers may be failing. Try a stable network and avoid repeatedly pressing Next while a connection is being negotiated.

WebRTC uses connectivity checks to find a usable path. Restrictive networks can prevent direct connections; a successful camera preview alone cannot prove that every remote call will work. Contact the operator with the browser, device, and displayed error, without including another person's private content.

Be deliberate about what your camera shares

Use a background that does not expose your address, documents, or workplace. Keep other people out of the camera frame unless they have agreed and are adults. A stranger can record a call, so do not share something you would regret being saved.

Read the video chat privacy checklist and the safety guide. The standard section and Unmonitored section are separate; the latter has an explicit-content warning and skips routine automated checks.

Optional, first-party analytics help us understand which public pages lead to real chat starts. They are off until you choose to enable them. We count page visits, chat starts, matches, Next presses, session endings, and returning visits by broad source category.

We do not include chat messages, camera frames, email addresses, raw IP addresses, or a persistent analytics ID in these counts. Your choice is stored in this browser. Essential chat and safety storage still applies.
